Gwen spans the musical spectrum from R&B to Jazz to Pop to Standards. Her vocal range is remarkable – from the sassy bassy sounds of Sarah Vaughan to the soaring soprano notes of Celine Dion. In-between she can be sultry, wispy, dramatic, and powerful. She can deliver it all.!!! 

Gwen Foxx is an inductee to the National Rhythm & Blues Hall Of Fame Class “2023”.

Gwen has shared the stage with many of the Greats in the foreground, background or impromptu and just to name a few with Chaka Kahn at The Blue Note Lounge, Luther Vandross at the "Essence Music Festival", KEM at the CNN Conference Center, with T.D. Jakes for the "GospelMegaFest", Harry Connick Jr, for the DeVoss Family Fashion Extravaganza, Aretha Franklin's Annual Christmas Celebrations.

 Gwen was personally chosen by the Queen to be one of featured artist for the “Queen of Souls” Detroit Music Weekend! 

Gwen also was the vocal director and background vocalist for Mary J. Blige's "Share My World Tour"

Gwen Foxx is CEO and Founder of Gwen Foxx Entertainment Incorporated, a launching pad to inspire, impact and provide opportunities to Artists seeking visibility on local, national, and international platforms.   

 

 In addition to devoting her work full-time to Gwen Foxx Entertainment, Gwen serves as the Senior Vice President and COO of the Detroit Metro Area Musicians & Entertainers Association (DMAMEA). She is also the Performing Arts Director', Drama II Teacher, and Chair to the Annual “Gospel Explosion” Scholarship Fundraiser at Oakland University Project Upward Bound Trio Prep Academy in Rochester, Michigan.

 

Gwen Foxx is Resident Artist and Producer of the Award Winning “Foxxy Gwensday” at Aretha’s Jazz Cafe’ all located in the Historic Detroit Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts.  

 

Most recently, Gwen Foxx has joined Reality Tv on WeTv’s Grown and Gospel” with amazing cast members, Elijah Connor, Tasha Marie Page, Jay Brooks, Breann Hammond, CoCo Shanelll and Shania Wilson.

The show is produced by reality television mogul, Carlos King. 

 

Gwen resides between Detroit, Michigan and Atlanta, Georgia.   
Gwen’s daughter, P’Aris Dokes resides in Atlanta, GA, she is the founder of HausMilann. A blogsite to inspire healthy living and mental health awareness.   
Her son, Raphael Foxx resides in Detroit, MI and is CEO of SvnProductionz LLC, a media conglomerate.    

Never forgetting where she started, Gwen is grateful for the foundation her father and mother John and Lucile Phlegm gave her while growing up in Pontiac, Michigan. Advocating for and being of service to others is the life lesson that they instilled in her and to this day is the lesson and mission most dear to Gwen’s heart.

 

Gwen is continuing the music foundation her late husband pianist and composer Greg Dokes built by creating many opportunities for musicians nation wide and in the Metro Detroit Area with their band  “Back2Back.” 
 

Also, Gwen is partnered with Oakland University Project Upward Bound College Prep Academy as Founder and CEO of The Greg Dokes Foundation For The Performing Arts in honor of her late husband 

Greg Dokes. 

Greg served as the Academy’s Music Teacher for 10 years prior to his passing.

 

Gwen is committed to advocating for young scholars who show interest in the arts and higher education. Continuing Greg’s legacy is of emense priority towards this Trio college prep program.

 

Gwen’s ultimate goal is to actively advocate for all performers and create a safe space and environment where everyone feels supported.
